Things to do in LA: Kidspace in February
Music, Motion, & Math:
Sundays, February 2-March 8, 10:30-12:00pm: In this class your child’s creativity will be nurtured and mathematical concepts will be reinforced through developmentally appropriate music and movement activities. This session will focus on attributes associated with grouping by shapes, size, and colors. This weekly series of six 90-minut classes is a great way to prepare your child for preschool or Kindergarten and will give them the opportunity to practice their social skills. Free Family Night, Tuesday, February 4, 4:00-8:00pm:
Express yourself with the power of paper! Explore paper as a unique and beautiful artistic medium. Fold, tear, and rim to your hearts content and stay for our 6:00pm special presentation! Admission to the museum is free for everyone during these hours only.
Homeschool Day: Wild Art:
Wednesday, February 12, 1:00-1:30pm: Homeschoolers – explore the wild ways to make art from painting to using our bodies for improv scenes. For ages 5 to 9. Fee is $15, which includes admission for one student and one adult into the museum for the whole day, a scavenger hunt style passport to complete to earn a special pin, and admission to the program at 1:00pm. Fill Your Heart With Art, Presidents’ Day Weekend, Saturday-Monday, February 15-17, 11:00am-4:30pm:
From paints to paper crafts, guests can experiment, practice, and participate in a variety of art! Fill your heart with different art at stations scattered throughout the museum – each station features a different medium or technique for you to try.
Family Workshop:
Saturday, February 15 or Sunday, February 16, 4:30-5:30pm: During Fill Your Heart with Art, stay for the featured Family Workshop. Continue the fun and learn the basics of quilling – the art of paper rolling and create take home project of your design. For ages 5 and up. Free is $15 per adult and child pair. Baby & Me Infant:
Thursday, February 27, 10:00-11:00am: This 60-minute class will help infants and their caregiver develop the natural curiosity to explore and investigate the new world around them. Through active, hands-on play, learn how to provide infants with the tool to develop social, language, cognitive, and motor skills! For children 6 weeks to 11 months. Leap Day:
Saturday, February 29, 11:00am-4:00pm: What is a frog’s favorite day? Leap Day! Revel in the 2020 leap year with Kidspace by wearing your favorite jumpsuit and hopping into leap-day themed activities around the museum like making an origami frog!
Kidspace Children’s Museum is located at 480 N. Arroyo Blvd., in Brookside Park, Pasadena, CA on 3.5 acres of both indoor and outdoor, interactive environments. The museum features over 40 hands-on exhibits with daily programs and monthly events for children ages 1 to 10. The mission of Kidspace is to nurture the potential of all children through kid-driven experiences, inspiring them to become joyful, active learners.
