Celebrate the Year of the Dragon
February 24 - February 25
Join the family-friendly Lunar New Year celebration February 24 and 25! Bring luck and good fortune as you celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Encounter spectacular traditional lion dog and dragon dances, imagine dragons with timeless tales spun by storyteller Barbara Wong, and create daring dragons with painting and puppet-making workshops.

10:00 am to 5:00 pm: Dragon Puppet Making, Imagination Workshop
11:15 am: Lion Dogs and Dragon Dances, Courtyard
12:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Dragon Painting (Saturday only), Courtyard
1:15 pm and 3:15 pm: Dragon Storytelling, Stone Hollow Amphitheater
The Lunar New Year Celebration is included with admission.
EAST WIND FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH, INC
The EAST WIND FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH, INC is a 501(c)3 registered organization based in the heart of the Los Angeles Chinatown community. Established in 1972 by Sifu Ron Quan, East Wind’s focus on working towards creating opportunities and making positive impacts on at-risk youths has made them a leader in the global community of not-for-profit institutions. This long-standing tradition has instilled confidence and self-esteem in every person invested with the organization. East Wind has grown since its modest beginnings and seeks to continue its success in three key areas: Performing Arts, Education, and Community.
BARBARA G. WONG, Storyteller
Barbara began sharing her love of stories as an Artist-in-the-Schools for the Hawaii State Department of Education, and for the University of Hawaii’s cultural outreach program. She was a resident storyteller for the Honolulu Zoo, and developed and led walking and culinary tours of Honolulu’s Chinatown.
She now shares her multicultural tales and personal stories with audiences of all ages in libraries, schools, museums, and festivals throughout southern California. Her timeless tales, filled with wonder, humor and wisdom, speak to the hearts of young and old alike.
USC PACIFIC ASIA MUSEUM (Saturday)
Established in 1971, the museum is one of few U.S. institutions dedicated to the arts and culture of Asia and the Pacific Islands, serving the city of Los Angeles and the Greater Southern California region. The museum’s mission is to further intercultural understanding through the arts of Asia and the Pacific Islands.
