Join a family-friendly Lunar New Year celebration February 28 and March 1! Welcome the Year of the Horse at Kidspace with miniature horses, special art activities, a cozy pop-up library dedicated to the Chinese zodiac, and spectacular traditional Lion Dance performances!

According to the Chinese zodiac, the Year of the Horse symbolizes a dynamic, fast-paced time focused on passion, freedom, and significant transformation. The horse is the 7th animal in the Chinese zodiac cycle and represents a time to move forward without fear, focusing on energy and speed.

Join the celebration! Lion Dance performances will be held in the Courtyard at 11:30 am.

Eastwind Foundation Lion DancesEAST WIND FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH, INC

The EAST WIND FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH, INC is a 501(c)3 registered organization based in the heart of the Los Angeles Chinatown community.  Established in 1972 by Sifu Ron Quan, East Wind’s focus on working towards creating opportunities and making positive impacts on at-risk youths has made them a leader in the global community of not-for-profit institutions.  This long-standing tradition has instilled confidence and self-esteem in every person invested with the organization.  East Wind has grown since its modest beginnings and seeks to continue its success in three key areas: Performing Arts, Education, and Community.

MINI THERAPY HORSES

Founded in 2008 by Victoria Nodiff-Netanel, Mini Therapy Horses is a leader in equine-assisted therapy using miniature horses. The team brings calm and comfort to hospitals, courts, veterans, and crisis sites, serves on LA’s Crisis Response Team, appears in the Rose Parade, and is nationally award-winning and featured widely recognized.
