Kidspace Children’s Museum Provides Free Admission for Families Affected by Southern California Wildfires Thanks to a Donation from UNIQLO

Kidspace Children’s Museum will offer free admission to children and families affected by recent wildfires thanks to a generous donation from Fast Retailing, parent company of UNIQLO. Kidspace is committed to supporting the community by providing a joyful space to play and learn during this recovery time.

“Since reopening after the January wildfires, we have been providing access programs, including free tickets and spaces for displaced school groups to meet,” said Lisa Clements, Kidspace CEO. “This donation from UNIQLO allows us to extend our access programs to welcome families recovering from the devastation of the wildfires to share moments of joy, exploration, and togetherness when they are needed most.”

Starting on May 1, Kidspace will offer up to 9,500 free admission tickets over the next six months to families in specific fire-affected zip codes. This initiative aims to provide accessible, play-based learning opportunities and a safe space for families to reconnect, recharge, and reimagine their futures after experiencing profound loss and disruption.

“At UNIQLO, we believe that recovery begins with care—for people, for the environment, and for the everyday moments that bring families together,” said Jean-Emmanuel Shein, Global Director of Sustainability at Fast Retailing and UNIQLO. “We’re proud to support Kidspace in creating opportunities for families navigating the challenges of post-wildfire recovery. By providing access to joyful, educational spaces, we hope to offer a sense of healing, connection, and growth.”

Kidspace is one of five Southern California nonprofit organizations selected for UNIQLO’s fire relief funding, which supports efforts focused on environmental restoration, youth development, and community access to arts and education. Families affected by the wildfires can access tickets through local community partners, support organizations, and on the Kidspace website starting May 1, 2025.
